Types of Booting
There are two types of booting, namely:
- Cold booting
- Warm booting
Cold booting
Cold booting is the process of powering on a computer from a powered-off state. For example, when you first turn your computer on after being off for the night you are cold booting the computer. You do this by pressing the power of the system unit and the monitor (for desktop computers as the laptop/notebook computers has only on power button). It is also known as cold start. Note: A cold boot is never referred to as a cool boot.
