Summary of Overview of Computer System
Computer is an electronic device which accepts data, stores them, process them and generate an output called information.
The three basic operations of the computer are input, processing and output.
The computer system can be classified into two, which are Hardware and Software.
Computer hardware refers to the physical components of a computer such as monitor, keyboard, hard drive disk, mouse, CPU (graphic cards, sound cards, memory, motherboard and chips), etc. all of which are physical objects that you can actually touch. Hardware is further classified into system unit and peripheral unit.
Software is a program that enables the computer to perform a specific task. It is also classified into two, which are system software and application software.
This chapter also treated the differences between system software and application software.
