Summary of Basic Computer Operations
Computer operation simply describes the way a computer works from the time it is powered on and made ready for the user to the time it is shut down, computer is performing operation.
Booting (also known as ‘booting up’) is the process of switching on the computer and allow it take the necessary procedures until it gets to the desktop environment.
The two types of booting are cold booting and warm booting.
Cold booting is the process of powering on a computer from a powered-off state while warm booting is the act of restarting the computer when it (is not responding) hangs.
The components of windows desktop are those things that display on the desktop environment after booting. They include: Icons, Task bar, Desktop background, Mouse pointer, Windows / start button, Quick lunch toolbar and System tray.
