Summary of Computer Application Software
Application software or app for short is any program or number of programs designed for end-users to solve problems of specific nature.
The two types of application software are User application program and Application packages.
User Application Programs are user-written software tailored to meet the user’s specific needs.
Application Packages consists of multiple programs bundled together to address a specific need. It is also known as application suite or integrated package.
Application Package is further categorized into General purpose application packages and Special (specific) purpose application packages.
General purpose application packages are software used to perform a broad variety of tasks and is useful to nearly all computer users.
