Features of Operating System
- Operating system serves as a super controller that ensures that other parts of the computer are used to optimum advantage.
- It allows many other programs to run on the computer without human intervention.
- It performs the role of a resource manager; i.e. it manages the processor, the storage, the input-output devices, data and programs.
- The controlling part of the operating system which coordinates the activities of other programs is called the kernel or supervisor.
