INTRODUCTION
BASIC is one of the major languages used writing computer programs. The BASIC language has many dialects that are unique to certain computers. Even with IBM and compatible microprocessors, there are several dialects such as Microsoft BASIC, GW-BASIC, and from MS-DOS version 5 we have QBASIC. QBASIC has been the accepted standard since 1975 when Bill Gates and Paul Allen developed it, because of its English-like commands which make it easy to understand.
MEANING OF BASIC
BASIC is an acronym for Beginners All-purpose Symbolic Instruction Code. It was developed by Professor John G. Kemeny and Thomas E. Kurtz at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire, USA in May 1, 1964.
