It is called the computer resource manager because it provides a systematic way of managing and organising the computer’s resources. It is the first set of programs / software that must be installed or loaded onto the computer to ensure its smooth operation. Without this installation, the computer cannot work. The operating system is the most important system software, which interacts between the application software and the computer. It acts as an interface between the computer user and the hardware.
