Electrical wiring is an electrical installation of cabling and associated devices such as switches, distribution boards, sockets, and light fittings in a structure.
Electrical consumers are equipment and materials that utilize electricity for cooling, heating, washing, drying, lighting and refrigerating. They are classified into Domestic consumers and Industrial consumers.
There are two main types of wiring systems, namely; Surface wiring and Conduit wiring.
There are two basic ways in which to connect more than two circuit components, namely parallel and serial.
Safety devices in house wiring include Fuse and Circuit breaker (switches).
Wiring tools and materials as well as their uses have been fully discussed in this chapter.
Electrical accessories are devices used in domestic and industrial wiring. They include switches, lamp holders, ceiling roses, joint boxes, fuse boxes, socket plugs, connectors, adaptors etc.
