MEANING OF PRESERVATION
Preservation is a means of safe guarding or protecting farm produce to keep it in a state as near as possible to its original state.
Most agricultural products are perishable. After harvest, the farmer adopts a number of measures to maintain their quality and keep them from spoilage. This is often referred to as preservation.
