Input and output devices are both physical parts of the computer system that make up the hardware. They are used to put in data as well as display or bring out information from the computer system.

Input devices are those parts of the computer that enable one to put in data into the computer system. Examples are keyboard, mouse, microphone, digital camera, scanner, touchscreen, barcode reader, webcam, biometric devices, and stylus or light pen.
