<p><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color">Meaning of Work</mark><br>Work is defined as the application of force to an object or body such that the object or body moves through a distance. Work is said to be done whenever a load moves through a distance. i.e. work = force × distance moved in the direction of the force (f × d).</p> <p><br>Work involves applying force over a certain known distance. Work is therefore a product of force and the distance through which the force is applied. The unit of energy and work is known as Joules (j).
